The holidays are behind us, the remainder of winter is in front of us.  And then it's Spring.  But right now, it's time for our January meeting.  This coming Thursday, January 11th @ 6:00, we'll be meeting at the Union County Community Center in Blairsville.  We have a number of matters up for discussion along with preparing for upcoming events for the new year.  I hope you'll join us.  It's always so great to see everyone and to have the opportunity to visit.  There will of course be door prizes, Bugs & Bucks, and the big drawing if we break through the 20 member level.  Looking forward to seeing you there.  That's this Thursday, January 11th @ 6:00 p.m.

And we've started back with the fly tying before the meeting.  That starts @ 4:00 and runs to 5:30.  We'll be tying flies relevant to this time of the year, and talking about what to fish, and why and how you fish it.  No matter if you're an experienced tyer, or you're just thinking about learning to tie, or you just want to know what's going on with the fish during the season you're more than welcome to attend.  This is where you need to be.  Right now is the time to be getting ready for Spring's Black Caddis hatch - perhaps one of the most incredible things that happens on our local waters all year.  With that in mind we'll be tying “Tom's Comprehensive”, a fabulous Caddis imitation.  The recipe is listed in our web site fly patterns.  And the second fly we'll take on is the “Blue Wing Olive Emerger” on either a #20 or #22 hook.  That also is listed on our site.

All this makes for a great winter afternoon and early evening with friends.  And you're certainly welcome to bring a guest.
