Tri-County Women’s Connection Zoom Event Wednesday, August 19 – 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. SOLE COMMISSIONER PARIS SHARES THE GOOD NEWS OF UNION COUNTY Living in Union County is a wonderful experience, but wouldn’t you like to know what “good things” are planned for Blairsville? The Tri-County Women’s Connection welcomes Feature Guest Lamar Paris and Guest Speaker Hasnah Pearce at their Zoom Virtual Gathering event Wednesday, August 19. Lamar Paris is in his fifth term as Sole Commissioner of Union County and serves as Chairman of the Joint Development Authority of Union, Towns, and Fannin Counties. Commissioner Paris also serves on the Peace Officers Standards and Training Council which is an appointment by Governor Nathan Deal. A lifelong resident of Union County, Lamar graduated from Union County High School and received his BBA from the University of Georgia. He is married to the former Dinah Payne of Epworth, Georgia and has one daughter, Jessica, who graduated from the University of Georgia’s School of Veterinary Medicine and recently opened her own Veterinary Office. The best word to describe our Guest Speaker Hasnah Pearce is SURVIVOR! Hasnah left her family and home country, Malaysia, in 1979 to start a new life in Kansas, facing challenges of college and marriage. She overcame great obstacles throughout her life but says “there is ALWAYS light at the end of the tunnel…you WILL get there!” Today, Hasnah is a speaker, successful Realtor and a contented, joyful woman! For more than 35 years, TCWC Blairsville has planned and hosted luncheon events that encourage women to connect with each other and their community. Now being offered as an online event through ZOOM, please make plans to “connect” with us, Lamar and Hasnah on Wednesday, August 19 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. If you are not currently a Zoom user, we can assist with the set-up.
