Securing Our Future By Supporting Youth And Families: Tri-County Women’s Connection Please join us for our luncheon on Wednesday, December 7th as Tri County Women’s Connection showcases a vital community resource, Union County Family Connection, a member of the only statewide network of its kind celebrating 25 years of dedication to the health and well-being of families and communities. The vision of Union County Family Connection is that every child in our community will grow up to become a successful, productive and contributing adult. Katy Jones, Mentor, Niyélo and Family Connection Coordinator, will be our featured presenter and describe how the UC Family Connection works with schools and other community agencies to assess and connect families with vital resources through its outreach program which meets basic needs such as clothing, food, glasses, health care, school supplies, shelter, etc., the mentor program that works with students to provide adult role models, and Niyélo groups that explore outdoor adventure fostering teamwork, cooperation and leadership. You will walk away from this presentation with gratitude and amazement, and realize the many ways in which the UC Family Connection touches each one of us. (If you wish to donate hygiene items or school supplies, please bring them to the luncheon.) Katy Jones, a Blairsville native has a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from North Georgia College. She has been with the UC Family Connection for fourteen years. She is married with three children and enjoys camping, hiking and other outdoor activities (did we mention lots of farm animals – a passion of her husband’s). She is also a member of the Anti-Drug Coalition. Next, Paula Jean Reddit will entertain us with her violin. Ms. Paula has lived in Blairsville since 1981 and plays in the North Georgia Chamber Symphony and First Baptist Church. She is also the music/entertainment chairman of the Blairsville Scottish and Highland Games. Finally, our time together is highlighted by Carolyn Sofield who entertains us with a mini drama, Women of Christmas, making the season come alive! Carolyn is a former teacher, medical transcriptionist and office manager. Carolyn is from Tennessee, married, and enjoys sewing, writing and people!
