Join us for a slide presentation on the research behind the award winning trilogy, “Wyatt Earp, An American Odyssey.” Mark Warren has researched the Frontier West and especially the life of Wyatt Earp for more than 63 years. His trilogy, Wyatt Earp, An American Odyssey," has met with the approval of a discerning group of Western historians as well as lovers of the historical fiction genre. Unlike most books on Wyatt Earp, Warren includes the women in Wyatt’s life rounding out the amazing, yet tragic story of this iconic Western marshal. These books appeal to both men and women alike, and they make a great selection for book clubs who enjoy discussing the history of our nation, and those iconic figures who pioneered the American West. Born to the Badge, the second book in the Earp trilogy was honored as a “2019 Spur Award Finalist.” (The Spur Awards are the most prestigious awards for books of the Western genre.) Think you don't like to read Westerns? "Adobe Moon" will change your mind. This one is special. Many fictionalized versions of Wyatt Earp’s story have been written . . . most, however, are largely ignored by the historical community . . . (but this one) has proven to be the exception to the rule. Adobe Moon is an engrossing ride with Wyatt Earp. My only criticism is the next book (in the trilogy) isn’t out quick enough.” ~ Erik J. Wright, Author, Western Historian and Assistant Editor of The Tombstone Epitaph National Edition. “This is unlike any Western you’ve ever read. It’s lyrical and philosophical, yet the action scenes are fulfilling and you gain insights into this American legend. The rich detail speaks to the depth of Warren’s research, and the planned trilogy of Earp’s life could not have had a better beginning than Adobe Moon.” ~Tom Vallar, Historical Novel Society "In Born to the Badge Mark Warren follows Earp through the Kansas cow-towns where he first makes a name for himself. They still talk about Wyatt Earp in Wichita and Dodge City. After reading this book, you'll understand why.” ~ Jeff Morey, Historical Consultant for the movie Tombstone. "Not every writer understands that the most important line in any book is the hook - that opening sentence which grabs your attention and makes you eager to read on. Born to the Badge opens with the following line: 'Wichita, Kansas, was hell in the making...' and there I went - engrossed for hours...Warren is able to convey scenes with a cinematic clarity. ~Peta Stevalli, New Zealand Booklovers Check out all of Mark's books at www.wyattearpanamericanodyssey.com
