Apple Day at the Georgia Mountain Research & Education Center The Community Council of the GMRE Center is offering a three-part series on growing apples for homeowners. In this second session, Apple Tree Pruning, Dr. Tom Kon, North Carolina State University Assistant Professor, Southeastern Apple Research Specialist. Pruning theory and pruning techniques will be discussed in our auditorium, followed by a hands-on demonstration and workshop in the GMREC orchard. This orchard session will require walking outdoors on hills and uneven surfaces. Dress appropriately for the weather.
